In this two hour class, you will learn how to fix some of the most common mistakes that even experienced knitters make (and pick up some handy dandy tips at the same time).

This class has a small amount of prework to complete at home and bring to class.

Time: 1 two-hour class
Level 3
: I’ve been practicing my basic knit or crochet stitches and I’m ready to take the next steps.

Skills you need: Cast on, knit and purl

Skills you will learn: How to

  • Pick up stitches in stockinette
  • Pick up stitches in garter
  • Put stitches back on the needle
  • Determine if a stitch is backwards and how to fix it
  • Run a lifeline
  • “Read” your stitches
  • Determine which way to go if you stop working in the middle of the row

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn in a light color. We recommend you avoid using yarns that are too smooth or slippery.
  • Class pre-work
  • Size G or H crochet hook, tapestry needle, contrasting yarn (scrap)

Usually yarn for classes must come from KGY. As you need very little for this class, we are making an exception. Visit our class policy page for more information.

Preparation: please come to class with a 4x4 inch garter stitch and a 4x4 stockinette stitch square in light colored worsted weight yarn on appropriately sized needles with the work still on the needles. Do not bind off your squares.

Cost: $35 plus materials

Date: April 20, 12-2 pm

Taught by Julie.
Class is limited to 6 seats.
